MARKETING PRACTICES LAW

When marketing your product, there are rules to be aware of that dictates what you can do and say. For example, you are not allowed to mislead your customers or omit essential information in connection with your marketing. This also pertains to environmental claims. Misleading claims or omitted information can be considered greenwashing. The rules apply regardless of whether the marketing is directed at consumers or businesses and whether it takes place on websites, social media or in print.

In addition, there are rules on how you can approach (potential) customers. The Danish Marketing Practices Act contains rules that make spam illegal and sets criteria for how and when you may contact (potential) customers and how to secure consent where necessary.

We are happy to help with an assessment of your marketing if you are unsure about whether it is legal or not.
